Free Bookmarker is a Chrome add-on developed by simon.kodu that aims to simplify the organization of bookmarks. With this tool, users can save the currently active webpage by clicking the "Add" button. The webpage will then be added to a matrix that is stored using storage.sync, allowing the information to be synchronized across all Chrome browsers the user is logged into, provided that synchronization is enabled.
Saved bookmarks can be individually removed by clicking the trash can icon located to the right of each link. The names of the added links are taken from the webpage's title but can be changed by clicking the downward arrow icon, located to the left of the link. This action opens a text box where users can give the link a desired name. The name is saved when the button to the right of the text box is clicked. The name of the current list is displayed as the header.
By clicking the hamburger menu at the top left, a new page slides in for managing lists. Here, users can create, delete, and rename lists. The page features three buttons at the top: one for deleting everything, one for creating a new list, and one for changing the appearance. Each list created has a default name of "New List" and is equipped with two buttons on each side for deleting or renaming, similar to the links within the lists.
The purpose of this Chrome add-on is to facilitate the daily lives of students and individuals by allowing them to save websites as bookmarks, making it easy to revisit them when needed. This program can be used in various ways, such as saving important pages received during lessons or using it as a wishlist for products and services.
